Guitar Smashing during Grand Opening Party (02.09.2026)

On the evening of September 2, 2026, the Grand Opening Party of Hard Rock Hotel Malta took place at the property. This video shows the countdown to the traditional Guitar Smashing ceremony of Hard Rock International.

Many thanks to Michael Schrimpf, a German collector, who was there in person and recorded this video.

Hard Rock Hotel Malta is COMING SOON!

According to rumors the hotel is also expected to include a Hard Rock Cafe, which would become part of the hotel complex while still counting as a separate visit credit.
The Hard Rock Cafe Malta Valletta at the Waterfront is expected to remain open.

If these reports are accurate Malta would then be home to a Hard Rock Hotel with its own Hard Rock Cafe, the Hard Rock Cafe Malta Valletta at the Waterfront, the Rock Shop on Republic Street, and the Hard Rock Cafe Malta Airport at the international airport (after Security).

We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available, but it certainly looks like a lot is happening in Malta!

The first rumors and concept renderings of a Hard Rock Hotel Malta have been released. It remains to be seen whether this project will ever become a reality.
